10 min in 2 and full stage spec. Used some new gowns and some of his old songs. Seems to have a big following and got over good.
Man who is a female impersonator and at the same time giving the impression that he is a woman. The interest created in that was is good but his work in itself as a singer and mimic does not amount to much. It is all right to play around once in an early position. 12 minutes in one.
Female impersonator and dancer. When Mr. Lind was played the first time, the novelty of his act made worth while. Today he didn’t go at all and there is really no excuse for his being in the bill, excepting for him to draw his salary. 10 min. Full stage, with a lot of weird scenery. 2 shows.
This female impersonator is quite inferior to Eltinge, but he has a fine voice and he changes from high soprano to deep baritone with the greatest ease. His gowns are rich and on the whole he made a hit. 9 min. in one.
‘Female Impersonator.’ 12 min. in 1. 2 shows. On at 8:37. In some respects this is a remarkable act. Tacianu has a voice of remarkable range, or rather two ranges that of strong, deep baritone and a high soprano. Some of his high notes are very clear and beautiful, and the lower register has also remarkable depth. At the finish, when he takes off his wig, there was a big laugh and two curtain calls. As an impersonator, this man is not in Eltinge’s class, but as a vocal freak he is certainly an entertaining novelty.
This man is one of the best female impersonators I have ever seen. He has the most wonderful voice for a man I have ever heard; his make-up is remarkable, and he received a hand on his appearance. He sang two songs in soprano voice, and his last song being sung in a Baritone voice, and I feel safe in saying he was the hit of the show. 12 minutes in one.
2 shows, open in 1, close in 3. Female impersonator. One of the best ever, if not indeed the leader in this difficult line of entertainment. Make-up remarkable, singing and dancing good and costumes all to be desired. Advance applause and warm hand throughout, with three encores. A fine feature for us.
Mr. Eltinge is undoubtedly the best and most artistic impersonator of female types we have ever seen. Full stage, but he closed in one for us. His act would be better to close full stage.
10 min. F.S. 2 shows. ON at 8:08. This man is certainly immense. His costuming and stage-settings are magnificent, and his dancing simply great. As a female impersonator he is certainly the best we have ever had. We billed him as a mystery. The audience was thoroughly fooled up to the very time that he seized his wig and disclosed himself a man. Then there was a roar all over the house. Five curtain calls followed.
On at 6.10, 10min, full stage. In many respects the greatest female impersonator I have ever seen. His make-ups are absolutely marvelous. The effect upon the audience when he reveals his identity as a man is almost startling. I would repeat the advice that some one else has already given, “Do not use the word ‘female’ in his billing or program matter”. It destroys the effect of his denouement. Carrying his own special drops.
