Carbrey Brothers

A local dancing act that has made good here before, and certainly did so today. Advance hand and some applause during difficult steps. Closed well.

Haviland and Thornton

17 minutes. Full stage. Special; close in one. Exterior. Presenting “A Question of Policy.” A singing and dancing act that I did not consider good. I am sure we would not care to play them a return engagement.

Ma-belle & her Sylvan Ballet

16 min. F.S. One of the prettiest dancing acts we have ever played. Ma-belle is assisted by eight very competent young dancers. Make two changes of costume, and with a special tropical scene for a drop, make a fine appearance. Mlle Ma-Belle’s dancing is artistic and original, doing toe dancing a little of the Greek and eccentric, all of which received a splendid hand. Make a close for a dancing act.

Six American Dancers

Plush drop in 2. The same big hit in the dancing line, working 15 minutes and holding the spot in fine shape. Some of its dash however was taken away by the fact that there was a quantity of dancing in the preseeding [pic] act. This could not be avoided as the arrangement of the program in this manner was necessary. (Columbus)

Dave Genaro and Ray Bailey

18 minutes open and close in one. Special drops. This couple seem to have gone back, although they came in this morning complaining that Miss Bailey was not feeling well, and willing to close. The first part of the act is rather slow, but made a good finish with the Flirtation Dance.

Ma-belle and her Sylvan Ballet

15 minutes f.s. Special set. This apple orchard scene is very pretty, and got a hand on the rise of the curtain. Ma-Belle is an exceptionally graceful dancer, and her solos were received with considerable enthusiasm. The ballet, however, is a bit heavy. Worked very much better to-night than they did this afternoon. With a couple of new girls who are to replace the heavyweights, should whip into very good shape.

Wartenberg Brothers

Double foot experts. 8 minutes in 3. Special props. This act is a mighty good opener. It is away from the usual line of opening acts, and was received at both performances by unusual liberal applause. The audience seemed to appreciate that this team had spent years in perfecting the act and properly recognize it. (Open)

Burns and Fulton

These two clever dancers are giving us a new act this time around and are doing very well indeed. The act is well-dressed and the special setting of plush drapery adds to the act’s attractiveness. F.S.

Tom Dingle & Esmeralda Sisters

I think this will eventually be a very good act. The only trouble with it now is it lacks character. Dingle is doing his eccentric dancing in dress-suit and in that way sacrifices comedy. The contortion dancing and high kicking of the girls is very good and the work done by Dingle is also good, but needs working out. As the week progresses I think it will improve. 11 min. in two.

Max Hart’s Six Steppers

13 min. in one. One of the liveliest dancing acts we have had here. The girls are very pretty in three changes of costume, and the men make a good appearance in two changes. All of them are excellent dancers. Whether dancing singly, in twos, threes or together, they got a big hand. Have been seen here before but went stronger than ever. Made a big close.
