Parlor in 3 – center door – 15 minutes – one man and three women –the man and two girls do controtionistic [sic] feats—have few equals anywhere—man very clever in his work and girls exceedingly graceful.
7 mins. Special drop in Four. A routine of very good contortion feats on the floor, pedestal and trapeze. Very satisfactory opening act.
8 min, F.S. Spec, Clever contortionist in dress suit made a fairly good open
(6 mins.) Did very well, as usual. Both straight and comedy contortion work of the trio scoring.
(10 mins.) Did very well as an opener. The act is nicely staged and the man does some pretty clever contortion work.
11 min in full stage spec. Exceptional contortionist in “The Frog Man”. Went well opening.
12 minutes f.s. Special plush set. Four pretty French girls in a wonderful exhibition of contortion are little short of startling. The stage setting, of heavy red silk plush, makes a great flash. A splendid closing act.
Contortion act with a little dancing by the woman of the team, presented with special scenery, man made up as a dragon and woman as an owl. Rather a small time offering. 8 minutes, F.S.
Contortionist – using trapeze and pedestal. Spangled costumes special electrical effects, assisted by a man who impersonates the “Devil” with good contortion work that amazed the audience and gave a round of applause. 12 Minutes full stage.
10 min. F.S. This is without exception the best contortionist act I ever saw. It deserves one of the best spots on the bill, because it comes near being a feature act which would stand strong billing. Carlotta first appears in the form of a dragon with flaming jaws, brilliant scales. He is lying on the top of a colossal tree-stump at the rising of the curtain and it is some moments before the audience wakes up to the fact that it is not some sort of weird “prop” animal instead of a human being in this weirdest of all make ups. Carletta proceeds to tie himself into knots then disappears into one enormous knob-hole of the tree and out another with slippery lizard-like motion then suddenly liberates himself from the shell and appears in a very stunning costume, fitting the entire body like a glove. HE then proceeds with some contortion work that is simply wonderful and brings strong applause. As an encore act he crawls through the bars of a large propchair and went off with a splendid hand. I have seen no end of contortion acts, but for skill and general presentation Carletta leads them all.
