Ben Beyer & Brother

Bicyclists: 13 min. F.S. 3 shows. On at 7:07. This is an excellent opening act for any house.  Beyer’s works eccentric and the younger an straight, and their feats are skillful, winning good applause.  Starts off the show in rapid fashion.  The bicycle business is a little faded now, but with acts that are strong as this there is no fear of good reception.

Cherry & Bates

Comedy trick bicyclists. 12 min, FS, 3 shows. One working straight, the other eccentric. Pretty fair, but they have done the same thing before. Some of their tricks got a good hand. Fell rather short of expectations, particularly in the comedy, which was forced fun, and not spontaneous. Does not belong in the 2-a-day class. N.B. These people were booked for three shows, but flashed contract for two – am error in making out the contract, evidently. They played two shows, since were were [sic] in no great need of material.

3 Marvelous Merills

Comedy bicycle act which is, no doubt, familiar to every house on the circuit. They are doing practically the same line of stuff that they have always done. It went well here although there is nothing great about the act. It pleases and that is all. 15 minutes, full stage.

Six Provenceas

Six girls in a bicycle act similar to the Kaufmans. Two of them do some remarkably clever work which should be better later as they made their first American appearance to-day with only one rehearsal. Had we not had the Kaufmans ahead of them, this act would have been almost a sensation, but it is not as good as the other act. Consequently didn’t go as strongly. 15 min. full stage, 2 shows.

Bud Snyder

2 shows, 18 min, full stage. Trick bicyclist, introducing jumping and somersaulting on the wheel. First time in 5 years. Some of his tricks are so reckless that they created considerable stir among our audience, in fact, too much. He was not in good working order, and failed in many of his tricks. As a consequence, we will move him up till he at least gets in better working order.

Carlotta

This act is a sort of a “Lemon”.  The man makes a speech.  Carlotta does a few ancient bicycle tricks and then comes the “Loop the Loop” stunt which makes them gasp for a second and it is all over and then you wonder what you saw and exclaim again “Stung”.  I doubt if this act is worth the money at any time.  12 minutes full stage.

Rabbh Johnston

This man, who also comes from the N.Y. Hippodrome, does some of the most sensational aerial bicycle stunts ever seen in this section, and if he gets through the week without breaking his neck the theater will have something to be thankful for.  20 min. FS.

The Hazardous Globe

A metal sphere in which ‘Wizard’ Stone and Miss Irene Stone do a bicycle act on the lines of the old Cycle Whirl. The actual riding occupies about three min. The novelty in the act is Stone on a motor-cycle making complete circles of the globe from top to bottom. This of act 6 min. Full stage.

Mosher, Houghton and Mosher

Unparalleled Cyclists.  2 Straight and one comedy.  This to my mind is one of the best bicycle acts in the business, and considering that they did not go on until 4:30, when our audiences are usually leaving the Theatre, they certainly made the hit of the show, and got the most applause at finish. 15 minutes

Jackson Family

Four men and Four women in a Bicycle Act.  An act which is certainly a close second to the Kaufman Troupe.  Their evolutions were splendid, correctly done and received big applause.  There is a welcome absence of trickery about their “Stunts”.  The smallest of the girls is remarkably clever.  I have had too many of these acts lately, but this one got as much applause as any.  13 minutes, full stage.
