Litz Spaniels

This is a very nice little dog act and is enhanced by the fact that the man seems to give them no orders whatever, in fact he is off the stage during a good deal of their work. The dogs however seem to be somewhat afraid of their Master and that detracts from the value of the act. It is all right at the salary and three a day. 13 min, full stage.

Milly Capell

Empress equestrienne. Her Arabian stallion and trained dogs, make a closing act of rare excellence and interest. A decided hit. Miss Capell is graceful and commanding, and has excellent control over her horse and dogs. Full stage. 12 min.

Galletti’s Monkeys

2 shows, full stage, 18 minutes. This act has been over the circuit, and has been changed entirely around since I saw it. The last time I saw him he was doing the barber shop and the boxing match, but now he is doing an entirely new act and to my mind the funniest he ever did. The monkeys were a scream from the time they were on until they were off, and it seemed to me they made the hit of the day.

Prelle’s Talking Dogs

A novel animal act in which the dogs are disguised as people and by ventriloquism seem to talk. Act amused the audience and held it to the finish. 12 min, full stage.

Robertus and Wilfredo

Bounding ball act introducing a very clever trained dog which although he only does very fun stunts his work is introduced in a very novel manner and went first rate. The act as a whole fell rather flat although I consider them very clever.

Helene Gerard

Queen of equine culture. An extremely pleasing act to the eye. Miss Gerard is a beautiful woman, has two very fine horses, splendidly trained. The first horse is ridden on stage by Miss Gerard, and does marching, dancing, etc. She closes with second horse, mounting revolving circular, colored lights are thrown on and she does a serpentine motion on horseback with beautiful effect. It is a good act. Full stage, 8 min.

Nirvana

With the aid of her horse, Loki, she presented pictures chosen from historic and romantic subjects which were pleasing and interesting. The act with the proper settings would stand among the foremost features in vaudeville. She carries her own curtain, backing, etc, which are very bad. Full stage.

Mr. Taffary’s Dogs

This is a really fine act. He has but very few dogs, but they are finely trained. They do nothing that has not already been done by other American and European dog acts, but what they do is done cleverly, and the feature of their act is the dressing, and it is safe to say that no troupe of dogs ever wore so really fine wardrobe as these. The audience was quick to appreciate this fact and the act made quite a hit. 16 min, full stage.

Merian’s Pantomime Dogs

The act opens Caesar, the mind reading dog. This part of the performance is certainly wonderful to those who have no idea of how it is accomplished, and it is the talk of the town. The Pantomime is without doubt the best that has ever been accomplished, and the act is the hit of the entire. Seventeen min, full stage.
