Burke’s Dogs

2 shows, 15 min, full stage. This act opens with a boxing match between two canines which is quite laughable and then goes to the bell ringing. The act does not compare with some we have had; the animals did not seem to overwell [sic] trained, but nevertheless they managed to secured [sic] considerable applause.

Kriesel’s Dogs

GRR 3. This is a very good troupe of dogs, all of them working without any apparent fear of their master; and the troupe also includes an acrobatic monkey which created a lot of laughter. It is a good animal act for the small part of the bill. 15 minutes, full stage.

Milly Capell

She is a fine equestrienne and well executed movements of horse and dogs elicited applause. Full stage

Robertus and Wilfredo

Manipulating rubber balls in a dexterous manner and employing a very clever dog they delighted the audience. Full stage.

Foster & Dog

HR 3. I think that it is beyond question that this fellow has the best trained dog that I have ever seen. He made really a hit this afternoon in an early part of the bill, and, if occasion demanded it, could go much farther down on the programme. 15 minutes in one.

Nirvana

With her trained horse “Loki”, in living Art Studies. Second appearance this season. See our report of October 5th, 1903. A good act, and goes very strong for a closing act. Full stage. Time 10 minutes.

Batty’s Bears

2 shows, 14 min. full stage—Considering the difficult position in which the act was placed, closing the show, it can be considered to have made good, and will probably go stronger during the remainder of the week, as under the rearrangement of the show it will be on much earlier both afternoon and evening. It is a very good act to entertain the children, while pleasing the grown folks as well.

Decand & Dog

This is rather a slow working act. The dog is evidently well trained but one of those animals which take a lot of time to do what is told it, and act will hardly ever amount to much unless he works quicker. Might be called a fair turn for opening a bill. 16 minutes opens in two, closing in one.

Spessardy’s Bears

2 shows, 14 min, full stage. This man has seven full grown bears, two cubs and two ponies in his troupe. They ride bicycles, wooden horses and breakfast, manlike. It is quicker in action than most bear acts and went very well today. Will try to get the children in during the week by putting it on after school hours.

Zella and his Dog ‘Dot’

Full stage, two shows, eleven minutes. This man is a pretty fair equilibrist, assisted by a well trained dog. The act is nicely dressed and very acceptable for an early place. He is only booked for two shows a day and as we desire the time, he very kindly consented to do three.
