Mme Melich’s Birds

12min. F.S. 2 shows.  ON at 8:45.  This is a very interesting attraction for any Vaudeville bill.  Mme herself is a pleasing well-dressed person, her paraphernalia is ship-shape and professional, but the amazing number of tricks the birds do, (including trapeze work, horizontal bars, bicycle-riding, cake walk and other remarkable feats) hold the interest of the crowd, and proves it one of the prettiest acts in Vaudeville.  There was liberal applause throughout the strong close.

Albertine Melich

11 minutes, Palace, full stage. This is a very good bird act. While not so many birds as some acts of this kind that we have played, I am sure it gives much better satisfaction than any bird act we have played.

Foster & Dog “Mike”

This is a very clever act, in a way, but the Dog seems to be very slow and as I remember that was the trouble with him when here before. It is not nearly so good as that of “Yankee & Dixie” on the same order. 15 min. in two, 3 shows.

Carlo’s Dogs

NH 3. This man is a clever equilibrist, and works alone the best part of the act. One of the dogs does some excellent work whole the man balances. The other two do small tricks. The act is nicely dressed and will make good in an early place on any bill. 3 shows.

Foster’s “Mike”

3 shows, 15 min. in 1. So called mind-reading and musical dog, in an act that interests, pleases and amuses the women and children, principally. Went well all through, being enthusiastically applauded at the finish.

Woodford’s Animals

This is an unusual act in which the man introduces two dogs, one Pug and one a little Fox Terrier, two Ponies, only one of which does anything the other being somewhat of a freak being the smallest animal of its kind I ever saw and most attractive for the children. He has two monkeys which do a number of laughable tricks, one of them rides a velocipede and actually guides it around the stage himself and the trainer covers the monkey and his machine, with chairs, lands it upside down, etc., from which the monkey extricates himself and velocipede and rides away amid roars of laughter. Considering he does three shows it is a mighty valuable act and especially pleasing for children. 20 min. full stage.

Albertine Melich

European trainer, presenting a novel and interesting bird specialty. This act is about on a line with all other acts of that calibre. It is the first one of its kind played in the house since its opening and goes fairly well. Time, 12 minutes, full stage.

Litz Spaniels

This is a good little dog act for an early place on the bill; manages to fill time and pleases the children. Act would be decidedly enhanced if the man was a little neater in his appearance. 15 min. full stage, 3 shows.

Bradna & Derrick

ON at 4.24, 8 min, full stage.  I consider this one of the prettiest and most effective acts I have ever seen among equestrian acts, and it is certainly a hit.  I hope that we may have the good fortune to have it on the Circuit next season.

Beaumont’s Ponies

5 Ponies, 2 dogs, trainer and assistant.  Ponies give the regulation stunt as in all acts of this nature, -marching a round the ring, posing, waltzing, shooting off cannons, cake-walk dancing, picking up money out of a bucket of water, etc.  The selecting of colored handkerchiefs from boxes amused the audience greatly.  At the price the act is thoroughly alright and finished to big applause.  14min, -full stage
