Military Octette

42 min. A bunch of boys formerly in vaudeville and now in the service stationed at Fort DuPont,  Delaware. Present a minstrel first part dressed in army uniforms, two in blackface doing end-men. Program includes popular songs and ballads and a routine of jokes. Act could get over on performance alone but with boys in uniform it was a riot of applause.

Ethel Mac Donough

15 min. Her new act consists of character impersonations with a song and she finishes with a patriotic ballad. Act is good looking, material handled and well received.

De Haven & Nice

9 min. These boys got very little with their burlesque opening but finished strong with a few minutes of very good eccentric dancing.

Everest’s Circus

11 min. One of the best animal acts we have ever played. A routine of clever tricks by the monkeys in enlivened by comedy which kept the audience laughing. An excellent opener.

Gus Edwards’ Song Revue

63 min. Playing a return after several months and went over big. Unquestionably the best production Edwards has ever made for vaudeville and repeated good impression made on initial visit. Only change is Bobby Watson for Dan Healy as principal comedian. In the closing position, following a lot of singing, a capacity audience received it with marked approval.

“Somewhere in France.”

20 min. A war skit as usual. Some of his material is a bit old, but he makes it go by the way he uses it and had no trouble keeping the audience amused from start to finish. Closed with a ballad in which he is assisted by a “plant” in one for the boxes and this earned an extra hand. His act is free from anything objectional, being the cleanest he has ever given.

Joseph E. Bernard & Co.

20 min. “Who Is She?” Substituted for The Ramsdells & Curtis and went over big, Played here before, but proved a good repeated, getting lots of laughs and finishing strong.

Sherman & Uttry

16 min. Man and woman in songs. Single and duet numbers are used with good results. They work in evening clothes, the girl making three changes. Did very well.

Sylvia Loyal & Pierrot

10 min. A very pretty novelty, including some wire walking by Miss Loyal. Two dogs and a large group of pigeons are used and the act was decidedly pretty opener.

Emmerson & Baldwin

10 min. Two men in a routine of burlesque comedy, juggling and magic. They work up a lot of fun with their tricks but also do some straight juggling and in the closing position went very well.
