Tom Kyle and Co.

This sketch entitled “A Doctored Widow” was fourteen minutes long. The backdrop is a lounge of a steamship. Peggy Gordon (Irene H. Gurney) is a seasick widow and Bill Dunstin (Tom Kyle) is a bachelor who plays along when she mistakes him for a doctor. A “colored cabin boy called ‘Texas'” almost tells her Dunstin’s secret, but Dunstin prevents it with a pie to his face. For the finale, the widow agrees to marry the “doctor”.

Laddie Cliff

Bert Von Klein and Grace Gibson

The act was twenty-two minutes long on the full stage. Von Klein and Gibson sing and dance in front of plush curtains. While they sing the opening number they do a dance in which Von Klein swings Gibson out over the audience. Gibson sings two songs in a kiddish voice. Von Klein’s voice is a “thin tenor” and he does female impersonations for one number while he changes in front of the audience.

Morgan, Bailey and Morgan

This piano-act was fifteen minutes long. Jimmy Morgan (formerly of Morgan and Chester and then a “single”), his wife, and Mr. Bailey are a musical trio. Morgan plays the piano and Bailey plays the banjo. Mrs. Morgan opens with “Circus day” accompanied by Morgan and Bailey. The two then do an instrumental duet. Mrs. Morgan sings two more songs and begins the encore. The men play their instruments alone for the finish.

Bessie Clifford

The act was fourteen minutes long. Bessie Clifford is blonde and sings three songs and dances for an encore. During the “I’m A Nut” number, she wears a “Yama” costume with a squared high hat and sings one verse while jumping up and down on a piano. She makes fast changes.

Rachel Lowe

The act was twelve minutes long. Rachel Lowe is an English singer who sang four songs in one dress.
