"The New Producer" shows a fine singing grand opera aggregation with six principals and as many chorus, with voices finely blended for harmonizing. Beside a premiere danseuse they offer such classics in the vocal line as Toreador song from "Carmen," prayer and drinking song from "Cavalleria," Sextet from "Lucia," and so on. It started off with some kind of a plot about a girl applying for a position at the rehearsal, but this was lost in the shuffle. Such singing is bound to "go" anywhere.
