This sketch is the outcome of "Everywoman." It is part of the craze of that will be forced on the vaudeville public until the craze dies.
Before the symbolic playlet starts the author, attired in silk knickerbockers (much like a magician), delivers the prolog. Tripping lightly onto the stage comes Everyone, dressed like Romeo. Everyone shouts for Happiness, and enter Pain. Pain is in disguise as an old grouch, telling Everyone that they shall meet again. Everyone is still shouting for Happiness. Then comes Wine, a little girl dressed in red. She tells Everyone to taste her. He does and he likes it. Then comes Nicotine. Finally Pleasure, a little blonde, enters. Everyone falls for her. He tries to chase Nicotine and Wine away, but they insist that he cannot have Pleasure without them.
The audience seemed to enjoy the act.
The story is logically planned out. Pain is a real actor. The rest of the cast falls short. A special set is badly needed. It is just according to what the audience has seen in this line, whether the sketch can be successful or not.
