“At Home”
"At Home" is another chapter in the duo's series. The act connects to their former piece, "My Lady of the Bungalow." The set is a country cottage. The principals enter and exit at different times through the screen door. Miss Glass exits and "one of the vaudeville surprises of the decade follows." She leaves the stage for purpose of dressing herself for a call. Immediately after she leaves, a Victrola is heard playing "Maxixe." Morton is visually displeased upon hearing it, but as there is nothing else to do, he begins a soft shoe dance. The dance gets loud applause as the house orchestra joins in. Miss Glass returns, gowned to walk, but sits on the steps playing guitar and singing. They close the act with a rag duet, pushing the baby carriage to and fro across the stage.
The talking, singing, and dancing firmly sends the turn over. The act starts off rather strangely: Miss Glass calls her husband (Morton), who appears rolling a lawn mower. Attached to the handle is the small basket with a baby in it. Overall, the act is a good successor. The act truly creates the "At Home" atmosphere. The duo are talented and worth the price.
