Man and woman. Presenting: “When the Earthquake Came”. This is quite a dramatic offering. Tells the story of a woman after an earthquake seeking shelter in a home and there discovers her old sweetheart, who is on duty as an army officer. Some parts of the act pertaining to the result of the earthquake is rather serious, bringing tears to the eyes of the critics, other parts they sanctioned with applause. Miss Depree is rather clever. The man started off a little tame, but seen regained himself. The act I think will develop in time to a good dramatic sketch. The finish was strongly applauded. 16 min. full stage.
