The sketch entitled “The Reform Candidate” ran for twenty-seven minutes on the full stage.
Arbuckle plays the boss politician of a town who campaigns against a reform candidate played by Sidney S. Cushing. The reform candidate soon finds himself “in a box” and has to seek out the Boss’s help.
The sketch held the audience's attention from start to finish.
Mr. Arbuckle as the shrewd political boss with a big heart is "as much at home as an oyster in a stew." Although the sketch involves little action, it never stalls or becomes dull.
Sidney Cushing also performs well in a difficult role.
