"Tim Grantley's Wife" is about a young girl about to elope with a married man. Another woman pretending to be the man's wife calls the young girl, convincing her that the man is a heart-breaker. The girl soon learns the woman calling is not in fact the wife but another woman crazy about him. The girl's brother, who had been out looking for the married man, returns to tell both that the man has run off with his own wife.
If anyone in the audience was not convinced that Miss Bardine's act was not up to vaudeville standards when it was finished, they realized as soon as Edward Abeles performed his regular comedy sketch afterwards. The thirteen minute sketch did little in the "No.3" spot.
