"Ma Cherie."
A season in burlesque did not clean it up. Instead it appears to have given the principals some slapstick notions for laughs that makes the pantomime look worse than it is, besides the suggestive motions the principals go through while dancing. It's not an act for vaudeville the way it is now, and especially on the small time. Agoust apparently has thrown everything to the winds in an effort to please the burlesque galleries, and he brought the same methods employed for that onto the American Roof.
