There is a certain quality to the sketch which seems to hold. Its melodramatics and sentimentalities have an appeal, especially when first seen, and the playlet was liked, although Miss Leigh is endangering her finis by drawing out the long speech reciting her life's history. That migh be spoken quicckly in short stops, and would be more natural and effective.
