The sketch is believed to be a dramatic affair, until the last line reveals it is a comedy. The doctor is called away overnight. A female burglar enters through the window, but is spotted by the doctor's wife. It turns out the burglar is the former wife of the doctor. When the doc returns, the current wife tells him the burglar being in need of medical attention. "Doc takes one slant at Mrs. Jimmy Valentine, and nearly does a Brodie." He gives the woman a big check. As she leaves, she tells the doc that the money is needed for her new husband. That is the comedy line.
In the part of the thief, the young woman shows class, but the other two do not. The sketch is a good small time act.
