The act was twelve minutes long.
Hershfield is the creator of the famous “Desperate Desmond” cartoons. He begins by drawing and labeling some characters in the “Desmond” series. For his finish, he stands with his back to the audience and looks through a mirror to draw people.
Drawing and labeling the main characters in the cartoon series was unnecessary because everyone present was already familiar with them. He works fast and his pictures are funny. "Hershfield ranks with the best of the famous newspaper cartoonists who have been seen in vaudeville."
