Herbert Brooks, third, afforded amusement with his tricks and quips, which never fail on the small time in spite of repetition. Herbert is a jester of the first water on and off the stage. Instead of going among the audience himself with a pack of cards, he has an assistant pass up the aisle for cards to be selected and marked, Brooks the while kidding. He said that anyone discovering how he did the stunt would receive a check for $225,000 or $2 in cash. Herbie loves to talk big amounts. Through the assistant taking to the aisle the trick is all the more mystifying. There is also a girl assistant who displays a luxurious head of hair, which she wears in double braids falling to her knees.
