“Mixed Drinks” 25 min. F.S. close in 1. 2 shows. On at 7:35. Unfortunately, this act uses a drunk and disorderly scene as an important adjunct, but it has a good many song and dance novelties to relieve it. Miss Hennings is one of the most expert and graceful dancers we have had here for some time, and a very pretty girl. Hennings, who plays the part of the kid, is also a splendid comedy dancer. The drunk, played by Lewis, is good for that sort of an act, but a lot of the talk had to be cut out, not being suited to our audiences, soon as the talk about drinking bouts with Flossies and Jennies. Laughing and applause was frequent and the close was strong, with two curtain calls. With the drunk and disorderly talk cut completely out of this act, (as was done after the first performance), it should make good over the circuit in this place on the bill. Had to be toned down a good deal before an Eastern audience, which would never stand for such a thing as a man’s confession to his wife that he had been out drinking with a man friend and two girls, winding up with a fight, in front of a saloon, while waiting for a patrol wagon. The act was long, as it was, and stood the cut very well, and Lewis, who plays the part of the drunk, seemed to be very willing and anxious to please.
