The piece is revised from a former act of the same setting, but only appeared for a couple of weeks or so.
"Old New York" is a comedy drama set in a backyard said to be a reproduction of a real one in Mulberry Bend. The plot does not amount to much, mainly centering on the witty remarks of Mr. Copp, the sign painter. Mr. Copp is kind to a young fellow, just out of jail, and the young girl he wants to marry. He aids them in running away by outwitting the girl's Irish aunt (Hattie Carmentelle). William Dale plays the carpenter. His comedy consisted of looking over a fence and springing a stray daffydill at different times.
Mr. Beresford shines in his role as Mr. Copp. There are enough good laughs to pull the act through in the early position.
