A pretty old idea is used for this sketch: a mistress changes places with the main in order to receive a caller whom the mistress has been writing to, but does not know. The girl placed a note on a barrel of apples and "he" received it.
The Swedish maid was wonderfully well done. With her efforts enough comedy for the sketch. In fact, her work smothers the efforts of the others. Perhaps this was intended. The act will do for the smaller big time.
