This sketch entitled “Waiting at the Church” was thirty one minutes long on the full stage.
The sketch opens on a simple and attractive interior setting. A Chinese servant is pouring his employer a drink after a long night out. A irate family of the bride enters, and it appears that the man has forgotten it is his wedding day. They do everything they can to get him moving, but to no avail. They eventually succeed because the bride assures him that she does not love anyone else.
If the running time was cut down to twenty-five minutes, this sketch would be a "corking good fast comedy". The action should be sped along after the funny scene of the bridal party waiting for the groom. Abeles gets plenty of laughs and proves once again that he is a good light comedian. Charlotte Lander does splendidly as the bride and the rest of the cast makes up a classy company.
