The action of Dave and Percie Martin's farcical construction takes place in a photographer's where Dave Martin, as the camera man, exchanges some merry repartee with Percie Martin, as the talkative modish-mannered young woman who came to the studio to have her "picture took." The latter makes a change of costume, prior to her "posing bit," and introduces a solo. Afterward the two sing "That Doesn't Show on a Photograph." They exit at the close using a conversational song. There is a tall man worked into the sketch as a chauffeur. At the end of the act there are moving pictures showing the chauffeur running after the machine down a dusty road and its subsequent capture are flashed on the studio screen upstage.
While the Martins may never win a blue ribbon with their voices, their songs will find favor in the "pop" houses. If they were to break into faster company, they will need to put their act on the dissecting table. While the setting is neat, the idea all right, and the Martins capable of putting over their lines in bully shape, at present it runs entirely too long. Some of the talk and much of the singing has a tendency to limit their efforts and cause the comedy to slow up. A little more speed would send the comedy along with bigger results.
