The comedy magician is mostly a comedian. Extremely eccentric from the start, his apparatus consists of a chair and a roll of carpet. He works much like Griff, his patter is practically the same in construction. He occasionally called attention to the shrieks of silence and insisted over and over again that he was "Deucedly clevah." He opened the act with a routine of card palming, finishing his card tricks with the disc casket trick. His finale has him working with a contortionist who acts as his subject in a bit of burlesque hypnotism.
Fortunately he has had a chance to study the American audience in the west before tackling the more important engagements in the east. The lanky Londoner will meet his real test in Hammerstein;s, where he is scheduled to appear in a few weeks. He made good here.
