Andree’s Statues in China and Ivory

The novelty of this act is the elaborate paraphernalia used as the basis for the poses. The platforms have the look of being carved in ivory with china trimmings. The manipulation of the lights heightens this illusion. Andree takes his bow in workingman’s clothes.
Three women do the posing, none of which are remarkably charming. However, the poses are so attractive, careful and effective that this possible "defect" does not take away from the work. The fifth and final pose is patriotic in nature.
The exhibit finished with "kind applause."
