The sketch is a Western with nothing new in the theme: the sheriff is always in pursuit of a criminal or a believed criminal; a girl tries to cover up the pursued one’s tracks, she fails; and the hero finally outwits the sheriff. All three of these characters are present in “$1,000 Reward.” Each of the actors does splendidly, although neither the girl nor pursued got very far from polite society.
The piece contains a few laughs and may do well for one trip over to the big time.
