– Perry Ryan, Lulu Ryan and Emma Wood, in a singing and dancing act. It is the same act that this trio has been presenting for the past several seasons, but nevertheless, it proved very entertaining to our audiences. 11 in one. 9 mins. F.S.
Man and girl in a comedy acrobatic act. This is a very good act and was well received. 15 mins. F.S.
A young man and young woman, brother and sister, in a very neat singing and dancing act. Although they open the show they were received with high favor, and are good enough for any place on the bill. 14 in one.
Presenting ‘Journeys End in Lovers Meeting.’ This is a clever little play and was cleverly acted, particularly on the part of Miss Shannon. I am doubtful as to whether Mr. Kelcey and Miss Shannon will draw very much money for they were never top-notch favorites in Detroit.
This well known comedian returned with ‘Pat and the Cenil.’ He has substituted Miss Anna Willard for his daughter Katherine who lost her heart and was married in Australia. Miss Willard last appeared here in the support of Chrystal Herne. The excellent comedy does not suffer in the least through the change in cast, and it received an ovation as usual. But Tom is about due for a new comedy. 25 min.
Two men presenting a new talking act entitled ‘Happy Days.’ This act is entirely away from the others, and is one of the best acts on the circuit. The men carry their own drop, their talk is bright and snappy, their comedy excellent, and they scored one of the big hits of the bill. 22 min, with drop.
Cast of seven people presenting ‘Old Jed Prouty in Boston,’ a condensed version of Mr. Golden’s first great success ‘Old Jed Prouty.’ Comedian Golden and his company scored one of the biggest hits of the current vaudeville season. All the comedy and all the heart interest of the original comedy-drama has been boiled down to 27 min.
This excellent and actor who has just closed as leading man with Henrietta Crossman went very strong with his monologue. He held the full stage 17 minutes and closed in one 10 minutes which I consider is too long for any monologue turn.
Four men and four women in a whirlwind dance that is very good, as it is life, dash and color every minute it holds the stage. While these acts as a rule do not make good here this one appears to have caught the fancy of the audiences. 10 mins, FS.
This is a very good dog act. It is a pantomime, musical and leaping specialty. It opens in 3 with a steal from the Merian act, showing a cottage and presenting in pantomime an act similar to the elopement of the Merian act. Going to FS the dogs appear in a bell ringing act and a leaping specialty. 14 mins, FS and 3 min in 3.
