M’lle Nadji

Pretty, slender woman in wonderful feats of athletics. Walks up and down flights of stairs on her hands and executes some other feats of ground tumbling of more than ordinary merit. It is a very good act. 9 min. FS.

Harry Houdini

This handcuff expert and magician is of great value to any vaudeville theatre if properly exploited. Escort him to a police station or jail and permit him to be stripped and locked up. He will escape from the handcuffs, manacles and cells, and the press will do the rest if properly handled by the press agent. It was worked with tremendous success here. The sheriff of the county appearing on the stage and tying up Houdini in a straight jacket from which he escaped in full view of the audience. Monday the theatre was packed to the doors at both performances and we expect to do a phenomenal business all week. His act runs from 20 to 30 minutes according to the work he is given to do by outsiders.

McMahon’s Minstrel Maids

One of the best big acts we have ever played. The girls, ten in number, are well trained, the scenic investiture is fine, and on the whole it exceeded our expectations and scored a magnificent hit. The minstrel first-part runs 22 minutes, and the closing at full stage with two watermelon girls runs 5 minutes.

Van Alstyne & Henry

Egbert Van Alstyne is a very good pianist and Miss Henry is a corking good comedienne. The act is first-class. 13 min. FS. 6 min in one.

Will Rogers

This comedian lasso-thrower repeated the big hit he made here on his first appearance. He has all other acts of this kind completely overshadowed. 15 min. FS.

Ollivotta Troubadours

Two men, one violinist, the other playing a guitar-zither instrument. One of the greatest musical acts that ever played this house. 14 min. in one.

Mme. Norma Romano

Grand opera soprano. Large woman of heavy features, in Italian selections. Has a great voice which she knows how to use in heavy numbers. Was well received. 15 min. in one.

Dancing Mitchells

Man and woman in a sort of whirlwind dancing act. Just a fair act. 11 min. FS. Their close in one is so short as to be useless.

The City Girls

Eight handsome young women headed by Truly Shattuck. This is one of the most pleasing numbers I ever witnessed. It is richly costumed and to my way of thinking is better than the original octette in ‘The Prince of Pilsen.’ 19 min, FS.

Will Rogers

An act without a peer for novelty, execution and atmosphere. This Rogers is a genuine child of the plains with a patter that is both original and refreshing. His work with his lasso and Indian pony assisted by a fellow cowboy is remarkable, and I consider him the true headliner of the bill. 13 min. FS.
