The Basque Quartet

One of the best singing acts of the reason, and a hit from the first note. Singing all in French, and all operatic selection. A rich treat for our box patrons, and it also holds the closest attention of the gallery and balcony. 12 min. in one.

Murray Sisters

The very best sister team in vaudeville today. Act has been improved 100. percent. Since last here, the elder sister gives impersonation of the Gibson girl which is far better than that of Valeska Surrat, while the younger sister is not only a handsome young woman but charming comedienne. 16 min, in one.

Avolo & Othello

Man and woman in gymnastic act. The work is all good and it was received very favorably, applause being given at various points and the finish being quite emphatic. The woman does not have much to do, but what she does adds to the act and fortunately they attempt no comedy. 8 minutes, terrace in 3.

‘Rain-Dears’

This is a very good act notwithstanding it gets but little applause except in the rain storm scene. Again I do not believe that a great many of the audience understand about the people of the far north, their custom of singing in the rain, etc. Louise Montrose is not as good in the leading part as her predecessor. Otherwise the act is about the same notwithstanding there is not a single girl in the act that appeared with it here last.

Minnie Seligman & William Bramwell

Presenting the comedy ‘A Dakota Divorce.’ This is a corking good comedy act, and it was given in most excellent manner. Both Miss Seligman and Mr. Bramwell are well cast. This comedy was originally played at this theatre by William Harcourt, Grace Heyer and Ina Hammer some three or four years ago. The present company is fully up to the original, and Miss Seligman is even better in the part than Miss Heyer. However I believe the act is very much overpaid for the reason that neither the name Selihman or Bramwell bring any extra money to us. Bramwell to be sure was the star in ‘Capt. Barrington’ and Miss Seligman was quite well known previous to her marriage into the cutting family of New York. The act runs 27 minutes.

Darras Brothers

This is, perhaps, the cleverest of all the brother acts in vaudeville. They work head-to-head and hand-to-hand stunts and do other and more sensational feats on the flying trapeze. Among the latter is the head stand on the flying trapeze bar which will no doubt create some talk among the lovers of this style of entertainment. 11 min. FS.

Paul Quinn & Joe Mitchell

A talking act in which Quinn does excellent character work as an Irishman, and Mitchell impersonates a real estate shark. It is a brand new idea, and the dialogue is brisk and wholly entertaining. They carry their own drops, and they make good from start to finish. About 20 min. However I believe that their sentimental finish bad.

W.C. Fields

This comedy juggler has not been here in a long time, and although we had a star juggling act last week, and a juggling act the week before that Fields carried off the palm for applause. Although he cannot be compared to Salerno for artistic finish. Fields work appeals to everybody, and he was a decided and emphatic hit. 13 min. FS. Can close in one about two minutes.

‘Polly Pickles Pets’

Joe Hart has kept this act right up to the high standard of last season. The principal female part is now in the hands of Daisy Leon who does quite well as Eulalie Young. The other parts are practically in the same hands, and the act itself was just as big a hit as last season. 2 min. FS.

DeWitt, Burns & Torrance

Presenting ‘The Awakening of Toys.’ Although this is a very good act from every standpoint its novelty has been worn off for this theatre, and it has ceased to have much value here. This act with the two acts mentioned received very little applause. 13 min. FS.
