Nellie Nichols

Songstress-comedienne. She sang a number of songs and all them very successfully. Made as big a hit for a single woman act as almost anything that has ever played in the house. At the finish they would not let her leave the stage but compelled her to respond with another song and numerous bows. She is a very clever artist and mist be given credit for making a bona fide out-and-out hit. 20 minutes, olio in 1.

Gardner & Vincent

In what they term a fantasy, “Winning a Queen”. The act is in three scenes with Moving Picture connections from one to the other. The offering is a trifle drawn out and at times seemed to be a little tiresome. However, there were a number of laughs scattered along the way and the finish of the act was unexpectedly strong. Would term it a moderate success but nothing big. 19 minutes, special sets in 1, 2 and 4.

McIntyre & Groves

Comedy talking act in 1, entitled “On Father’s Train”. One works straight, the other eccentric comedy. Their line of talk is fast and full of good points, none of which failed to make a favorable impression. They went very big and were compelled to take several bows at the finish. 13 minutes, street in 1.

The Picquays

Man and woman in an exceptionally good acrobatic and equilibrist offering. They both make a first-class appearance from the front, are exceedingly graceful and finished in all their work, and the act made an unmistakable hit, finishing very strong. 9 minutes, C.D.F. in 5.

Charles Lovenberg’s “Operatic Festival”

A most excellent singing act divided into two parts—“Gypsy life” and “The Carnival of Venice”. The individual and ensemble work of the various singers in this offering is of the most admirable character and none of it failed to score. The act held the undivided attention from beginning to end, and the finish was such as could leave no doubt in the mind of anyone as to the success of this very meritorious presentation.  29 minutes, special sets in 5 and 2.

Phil Staats

Monologist and Pianologist. He scored a very strong and unmistakable hit, his talk and piano playing catching the attention of the audience throughout. Made an excellent finish and proved himself to be an entertainer of exceptional merit. 17 minutes, palace in 1.

Bert Leslie & Co.

In his comedy sketch, “Rogan in Society”. A most entertaining and highly diverting comedy sketch which went with a rush from beginning to end. The laughs were fast and furious, and the act was distinct an unqualified hit. 17 minutes, light fancy in 2.

Forbes & Bowman

Young man and woman in a singing and talking act. They make a good appearance from the front but their success wasn’t as emphatic as I looked for. They were only fairly successful all the way through and did not finish especially strong. 18 minutes, palace in 1.

Bessie Valdare Troupe

One woman and five girls with a moderately good bicycle act. Nothing startling in any of their work but none of it is really bad. They got by with a moderate degree of success. Finished fairly strong. Garden in 5, 13 minutes.

A. O. Duncan

This well known ventriloquist, as usual held the spot fairly well and scored a moderate success. 21 minutes, C.D.F. finish in 1.
