"Betty's Triumph" is like many other comedy works in that the line "She (or he) is crazy; I'll humor him (or her)" is essential to the the sketch. Reliable old line pop ups keep the action within bounds of reasonable probability. Their antics make good the "crazy" idea. Their lines and business cause a multitude of laughs. "Mistaken identity" provides the foundation of the sketch.
No matter how illogical the theme and finish may be, laughter which ensues erases all thoughts of fault-finding.
