"edwin Latell, who has been a black-face comedian for many years, has brought sorrow to the manufacturers of burnt cork and joy to the grease paint dealers by making a complete change in his makeup. [...] Instead of the eccentric darkey he appeared as an elderly oddity in white face, with a long coat and queer looking top hat."
Despite the drastic change in his act, his new act is "from all accounts [...] a vast improvement over his former speciality."
