"The Quakeress" suggests that Miss McIntyre will be playing the role associated with the name. In fact she wears the style of clothing while applying for actress jobs. She is then asked to showcase her skills which prove to be far beyond that of a simple Quaker. Miss McIntyre is especially skilled at this particular style of song; her childish voice and facial expressions add to the act. Mr. Hyams fills the dialogue between his wife's songs with good comedy.
