"It shows no improvement from last summer when appearing on the roof for the first time. The act runs too long, is faulty and for the implied idea of the title, there is altogether too much light on the stage. At the opening care is not exercised, and instead of the strip from the 'spot' striking the figures on the knees or just below, the illusion aimed for is lost by the light distinctly showing the aperture in the curtain through which the limbs protrude."
