“Her specialty is gymnastic, done on a trapeze and aerial horizontal ladder, with net stretched beneath. When this net has been fixed she appears in street costume — long, full skirt, blouse bodice, black beplumed hat and white gloves. […] There follows a slip upon the bar that ends by her hanging head down, first from both knees and then from only one. Her skirt hides her face, but leaves in view a tumble of muslin and laces, in contrast to which are black stockings, bright ribbon garters and flashes of fleshings as the performer twists about violently. The skirt is gradually worked downward onto the hips […] and [she] scratches her released flesh, while her face takes on a look of ecstatic relief. […] Then comes a specialty of conventional manoeuvres in gymnastics.”
"In the latest addition to Koster & Bial's list of specialists there is reason for the judicious to grieve and to stay away from that music hall. The unwelcome newcomer is Laveria Charmion."
