This “Chinese Variety Show” was thirty minutes long on the full stage.
Ching Ling Foo, brought from China by George and Leon Mooser, is a Chinese magician and is accompanied by eleven other performers. Two men do a routine on horizontal bars that are double the size of the ones used by American performers. Another appears on the flying rings. A juggler does a trick with a heavy bowl. A young girl does some plate spinning as well. Then Ching’s daughter Chee Toy sings a rag in English. Ching Ling Foo finished with his magic act in which he produces bowls of water.
The horizontal bar performers lack the finish of American acrobats, but they have some tricks which seem years ahead of everyone else. "He [Ching] is different, and vaudeville is sadly in need of something different." The act will attract attention wherever it goes.
