Bessie opened her act with one song that few in the house heard.
Miss De Voie is at Hammerstein's singing and dancing, probably receiving a great deal of money for her presence.
She is expected to draw the public in to see the woman whom Frank J. Gould wrote love letters to. The daily papers printed the letters; Miss De Voie is the woman.
Bessie turned off an "itching kick" that was a peach, but how many in front knew anything about an "itching kick?" There was nothing else to applaud. Someone applauded though.
Bessie left the stage while some applauded and others wanted to know why.
All alone, Bessie is just a plain "single" act; can't sing through having no voice, and dances as she did when in vaudeville once before as a member of Young and De Voie.
