This sketch entitled “Live Wires” was twenty-two minutes long on the full stage. Minnie Dupree plays a telephone operator whose brother (Arthur S. Hall) is in trouble for beating up a police captain in a gambling raid.
The play is sensible because Dupree does not play the operator in the typical "hand on hip" style. She may lose some laughs that way, but her performance is much more credible. William Frederic as the detective sergeant and Arthur S. Hull as the brother are splendid. "The other two characters are little more than super jobs and could be filled in by stage hands."
