This comedy-drama entitled “Taken on Credit” was twenty eight minutes long on the full stage.
The plot (written by Edward Peple) revolves around a grocer who notices items disappearing from his store. He enlists the help of a policeman, who discovers that it is his own daughter whom he abandoned years ago stealing to feed her sick mother. The policeman pays the grocer for what his daughter stole, and goes back with her to see the woman he abandoned. Mabel Taliaferro plays the thief/daughter and Thomas Carrigan plays the policeman/father. Joseph Greene plays the grocer.
The sketch received many laughs throughout and several curtain calls.
The comedy is good and the climax is sufficient. Joseph Greene's nerves can be excused since it was opening night for the sketch. Mabel Taliaferro's name and acting ability carried the sketch. It is doubtful that it would have made good without her.
