Comic musical.
Bevo looks like beer. But it lacks the kick, and won't do. 'The Only Girl," condensed version of the play by that name, looks like musical comedy. But it hasn't the kick, and it won't do. It's vaudeville Bevo. Henry Blosom is credited with the book and Victor Herbert the music. But they only wrote it. They didn't act or sing it. Neither did the actors and singers in "The Only Girl." The only thing the matter with "The Only Girl" in its condensed version is that it isn't condensed enough. It should be condensed into oblivion.
