24 minutes f.s. This is the first production of McIntosh’s sketch, which was written by himself. The reception he got this afternoon and evening showed that the name was certainly worth something here. It tells the story of a New York man who went out to Arizona and lost himself as a stage driver. Some years before the curtain rises he saw the picture of a girl in a newspaper and fell in love with it. When the girl comes west there were the usual difficulties arising out of their supposed different stations in life. There is a comedy vein of a light sort, all through the piece, and which may work up in good shape. This evening the performance was 100 per cent better than this afternoon, and it held the interest from start to finish and got a good hand. While it is giving satisfaction here I would prefer to not make a final report on it until the end of the week.
