Comedian. 21 min. in 1. 2 shows. Big advance applause. As predicted, this man’s work was a scream from the state. He introduced no end of local witticisms, which shows that he does not rely on hackeyed material, but uses his inventive faculties to produce big effects. Some times he would get a perfect whirlwind of laughter and applause, and the audience was loth to let him go. As it was, he received one curtain call after another, and once more justified his title of “America’s King of Blackface Mirth.”
