“The Ace of Trumps”- 22 min. F.S. 2 shows. Received a good advance hand. Miss Coghlan is beautifully gowned. The theme is rather disagreeable, being the disclosures of a woman of the London half-world, seeking by intrigue to gain social recognition. Thwarted by the discovery of her husband’s escape from prison whither he was sent through her treachery. The first half of the act was rather slow and talky, but warmed up to an interesting climax. The finish was big. Think she would go better with the evening houses.
