HRR 2. Supported by Chas. B. Welles in a sketch entitled “Winning a Widow.” Had it been possible to gamble on the weather, I think it would be a certainty that I should not have had Sadie here this week. From the Philadelphia criticism of the act I knew that it was artistic, but quiet and with very little comedy, but I needed a name to head the bill and I thought if we had cool weather she would draw her salary. The houses were fair yesterday, and I attribute it largely to her. So far as the sketch itself is concerned, it is not suited to vaudeville. 23 minutes, full stage.
