"The Denunciation" is an excerpt from the Alexander Dumas drama, "The Royal Box."
The audience followed the act closely until the close of the second and final scene. They were expecting a surprise that was not delivered.
Robson's players have allowed the careful and excellent theme to a well timed crisis drop back down to earth with a sickening thud through the absence of a good finale. It is a good story and the parts are well played. Walter Hitchcock as the Prince of Wales is a bully. The valet, not programmed, looked and played the part quite naturally. The romantic playlet needs a more dramatic ending.
