Three members of the quintet are women. One spends all her time at the grand piano. They open with a lively song and dance. Next came a solo, followed by a duet (both were ballads). They also do a comedy bit in which four of "The Dandies" represent a music hall audience. Two chairs are placed on a table to represent the gallery. They finish with a laughing song.
The comedy bit with the gallery went by unnoticed.
The act is a routine of misplaced material that would bring the expected results if properly altered for this side of the pond. They could easily cut six or seven minutes. They were probably placed in the "No. 1" position because of their past performances on the Orpheum Circuit. "No. 1" is a bad position in any house, but worse at the Majestic. The act started strong but finished weak. They should use their opening number for a finish and eliminate the song now used.
