"Hollins is an English "Johnny" of the stupid sort unable to grasp our Americanisms." He reads in the paper of the incarceration of Duke De Souse. Believing he is an Englishman, Hollins comes to bail out his countryman. The Irish police sergeant does the "straight." The talk mostly hinges on the Englishman's inability to grasp the point of a joke. The finish shows the Duke to be a colored individual with a long thirst and a short purse.
The poor finish keeps the applause rather covered at the close.
The act amounts to little more than a two-man patter act. Much of the routine is laughable, the Irishman shares honors with the star.
