The feature is a western setting with wood wings and an artistically painted back drop. It is set in a valley with surrounding cattle ranges and a winding stream of water that appears to drop over a precipice with water fall lighting effects.
"The Cat's Paw" is an unattractive girl who become the medium for accomplishing the business ruin of a prosperous young ranchman by acting as a decoy. There is a fear of a family secret being exposed.
The characterizations appear to be somewhat overdrawn at times, but overall it was generally well acted. Despite being shifted from fourth to closing position, the act scored. The act is deserving of something better than the South State street route.
